Nashoba Valley Medical Center and Steward Medical Group are pleased to welcome Peter Ofman, MD, a highly trained cardiologist to the medical staff. Dr. Ofman will provide general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology services to patients, which include screenings, pacemaker implantation and other procedures, maintenance, and follow-up care.
“Nashoba’s cardiology department continues to grow with the addition of Dr. Ofman, an expert in the field, and the new electrophysiology services,” said Salvatore Perla, president of Nashoba Valley Medical Center. “Typically, a patient would have to travel elsewhere for these services but now they can receive them close to home.”
Dr. Ofman brings with him extensive training in the field of cardiology and electrophysiology. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Ofman completed several fellowships, including a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, a cardiac electrophysiology and preventative cardiology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and VA Healthcare System in Boston, a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and research at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, and a cardiology fellowship at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. Prior to pursuing a career in cardiology, Dr. Ofman completed a residency in internal medicine at Brown University Program Hospitals in Providence, Rhode Island and worked as a hospitalist in eastern Massachusetts.
“I hope to bring my patients the quality, personalized care they expect and deserve,” said Dr. Ofman. “Developing relationships with my cardiac patients to help them maintain optimal heart health is my top priority.
