Proud to Serve Our Country. Honored to Care for You.

This Sunday marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I on November 11, 1918, which makes this Veterans Day that much more meaningful.

I want to honor this occasion by thanking our nation’s brave men and women – including the veterans who work here at Steward  – for going above and beyond to keep our country safe. As a veteran and father of a solider, I know firsthand the sacrifices you’ve made.

This Veterans Day, we are spotlighting several of the veterans that we work shoulder to shoulder with every day. We’re illuminating their stories here and in tribute advertisements running in local newspapers across the county.

One of our colleague’s stories that came to our attention was especially noteworthy. Brian Jewers transformed his calling as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force into his calling as a Senior Nurse Manager with Boston’s St. Elizabeth Medical Center’s Comprehensive Addiction Program. We have captured his story in this short video. Brian’s story illuminates what it means to all 40,000 of us here to be a steward.

As our nation honors the bravest among us, I want to thank all the men and women who have served and continue to protect our great nation. The integrity, courage, and commitment that you embody from your military service makes us better people and a safer country.

On behalf of the entire Steward Health Care family, thank you for your service and sacrifice. From my family to yours, I am grateful for the service you give.

With Deep Gratitude,

John Polanowicz

Chief Operating Officer
