What is one of your favorite summer vacation memory?
When I was eight or nine years old we took a family trip to Florida. It was about a 14-hour drive, which I spent in a rear facing seat in the back of a station wagon. During that trip, we went to Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral and I was fascinated with the space shuttle travelling out to the launch pad on a massive crawler. I obviously did not know at the time that I would be working in Rockledge, Florida 35 years later; 15 miles south of Cape Canaveral.
What is your favorite hobby?
My free time is spent with family enjoying the outdoor activities that Florida has to offer such as boating, fishing, surfing, kayaking, etc. I also enjoy running and have run quite a few marathons and half marathons.
Tell us a bit about your family.
I have been married to my wife Melissa for nearly 16 years. We have three wonderful boys aged 14, 12 and 10, which can make work feel like vacation sometimes. Additionally, we have two dogs. My wife is trying to talk me into getting a peacock for a pet, which I am not even sure is legal.
Where is one place you would like to travel and why?
My wife is of strong Italian descent and a trip to Italy is definitely on both of our bucket lists.
What are the top three characteristics, you feel, are important to have in the work place?
I am a firm believer that those with a positive attitude are more successful in life. That combined with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn are unstoppable. We are working to hire staff that possess a positive attitude. We can train the job skills, but I have never figured out how to train up their attitude.
